april wrap-up ✨ where in the world did the month go….

Hello, hello! Can y’all believe April is already over?! I swear, this month went by in a flash. I started the week thinking I had two weeks to make this post and then I looked at the calendar and I was like “how did we get there??” Needless to say, I forgot to make this post and now I’m rushing to get it out before the end of the month so yay for stress.

I’m going to try to keep this short and sweet. Not much to update y’all on.

One thing I did want to mention was that me hit 120 followers this month!!! Thank y’all so much for your support! If you told me back in June when I started this whole crazy thing that I would reach 50 followers, let alone 100, I would’ve told you that you were insane! I’m so immensely grateful! I forgot how amazing running a blog could be and it’s because of all the comments and friends I’ve made that I make these posts at all so thank you again!!

Moving on, I do want to share everything I read. I hope y’all had a fantastic reading month, I know I did. Something about the spring air really made me want to read more. Let’s just jump into all the books I read in the month of April because…..it’s a lot.

I read 2 (and a half) audiobooks this month!

The Wishing Spell by Chris Colfer (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) ~ This was one of my favorite reads of the month! It was so good! Normally, I don’t like middle grade but something about this clicked with me. It’s endearing, it’s nostalgic, and I highly recommend the audiobook because Chris Colfer is such a talented voice actor. He makes it feel like you are listening to a full voice cast, it’s absolutely magical. Can’t wait to pick up book 2.

Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) ~ This was a re-read for me as y’all probably know. Still loved it as much as ever. Probably will pick it up again in a couple of months because for some reason this is a comfort read for me.

I read 8 books and 2 novellas this month!

Life’s Too Short by Abby Jimenez (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) ~ A thank you to the publisher for providing me with a review copy! I gave both of Abby Jimenez’s other books 3 stars and I was ready to write off this author as “not for me” until I read this. This is such an unbelievably sweet romance. So perfect for someone like me. If you’re looking for something moving, I definitely recommend this. If you wish to hear more about my thoughts, you can check out my review *here*.

Twice Shy by Sarah Hogle (⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 / ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) ~ A thank you to the publisher for providing with a review copy! I still have my review for this in my drafts 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️but it will FINALLY be posted on Sunday. I really loved this book. It was…..nearly my new favorite read of all time. Because it moves at a slower pace, it did not beat out YDEO for my new all time favorite but it did cement this author as a new auto buy for me! I’ll talk more about this book in my review but it’s amazing and I beg y’all to check out this book!!!!

The House Swap by Jo Lovett (⭐⭐⭐.5 / ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) ~ A thank you to the publisher for providing me with a review copy! I posted a review for this title which you can check out *here*. This was very enjoyable and unique, just not my favorite thing in the world. Still definitely would recommend.

The Hill We Climb by Amanda Gorman (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) ~ Still as inspiring as the first time I heard it!!!

My Epic Spring Break (Up) by Kristin Rockaway (⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) ~ I made a post of all the thoughts I had while reading this book and if you wish to see that you can click right *here*. This was a really fun, quick read. Would recommend if you need a good pick me up!!!

Of Thee I Sing by Barack Obama (⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) ~ I really disliked this. But the art was so pretty.

The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn (⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) ~ I listened to about half of this audiobook and I think it’s excellent so if you’ve been wanting to finally start this series, do check them out!! I love an enemies to lovers story done well and this was done so well! Definitely my favorite out of the three I’ve read so far! It was funny and sexy and so relatable for me! I could definitely see myself rereading this one in the future!

The Viscount Who Loved Me (2nd Epilogue) by Julia Quinn (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) ~ This is hard to wrap up without spoiling the book. It was fun and sweet and made me fall in love with Anthony and Kate even more. Just the perfect bow on top of their love story.

An Offer From A Gentleman by Julia Quinn (⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) ~ I was so excited when I started reading this because I realized it was a Cinderella retelling and I am an absolute sucker for anything Cinderella inspired! And then I started to dislike our love interest, Benedict. He’s just not the kind of man I would want to fall in love with. So, he did kind of ruin the story for me but overall, it was a good time.

An Offer From A Gentleman (2nd Epilogue) by Julia Quinn (⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) ~ This epilogue follows Posy, an ugly stepsister type character to Sophie. I love that she finally found her happily ever after BUT this was too short and too dull to be anything other than boring. The most disappointing out of the first three expanded epilogues.

Thanks for reading! I promise next month I’ll be on top of my game and I’ll make sure I have most of this post written before it’s due lol. Comment down below what your favorite read of the month was! Until next time!! BYE!
